Tromsø

Tromsø is the largest town in northern Norway and one of the largest above the Arctic Circle. It's a pleasant place to walk around.

The ship docks close to downtown so it’s easy to get off and wander around. There’s a square with a church and gazebo nearby.

One of Tromsø’s landmarks is the modern Arctic Cathedral. The bridge to it was closed so we didn’t get over there but even from a distance it’s dramatic.

We walked past the Polar Museum with a cute seal statue. We also saw and old cinema and a modern library.

Just looking at this rock climbing platform makes me queasy. We liked this art piece we saw in the port terminal building.

As we left Tromsø we saw ski jumps on the edge of town.

On our way southbound we docked in Tromsø in the middle of the night. I happened to be awake and got photos of the Arctic Cathedral illuminated.
