We had tickets purchased for the Bell Tower for 10:00 a.m. You progress up through the tower in a group. There’s an initial stop for photos part of the way up followed by two more levels where you can see the bells themselves.
A security person goes along to make sure everyone moves up and down at the appropriate time. We were up there for about half an hour and got some great views over the city. We could see our rooftop from there.
Below are views of the Mezquita and courtyard from the tower, and the bell tower itself.
This dome is inside the stairwell. There were a lot of stairs but it we made it. It helps that you don’t go all the way to the top first.
The courtyard is free to visit but the least interesting part of the complex.
With some time to kill before our visit to the Mezquita, we walked around the outside walls. It takes about a half-hour to visit the tower.
