The scenic drive there and back was the real draw for us; more about the journey than the destination.
The High Road is supposed to be the more scenic route to Taos. We took the low road there and it also had good scenery, especially in the canyon leading into Taos.
We’d planned on visiting the pueblo but it was closed that day so we turned around and took the High Road back to Santa Fe. It was beautiful.
