Sensō-ji

The Sensō-ji temple was beautiful and crowded. Seeing lots of people in traditional Japanese dress added to the atmosphere.

We approached the temple from the nearby Asakusa subway station, which led us through a packed market area. There was a variety of food and traditional trinkets and we saw a good many people in traditional Japanese dress.

The pagodas are beautiful. There was a fire or incense burning in front of the main building that people were inhaling.

You view the main temple through windows. We didn’t push ourselves to the front.

Other parts of the complex were more calm. The man and his monkey didn’t have much of an audience.
