The Sandy Point nature hike is inside Tawas Point State Park. You can walk to it from the campground.
We saw lots of unidentified bird activity and frogs, including a couple of herons. There was nice coastal scenery with several interdunal ponds. It was a little tricky finding the trail at times, but the point is so narrow you can’t get TOO lost. And a road runs right down the middle of it. While the weather kicked up a little, with wind and gray clouds, it didn’t rain. All in all a pleasant and easy walk.
