Our plans for the day didn't work out so we did this pleasant if unexciting walk along the River Churn.
We’d planned to go to Bibury today but couldn’t get there due to road closures. So we found a riverside walk to do instead. The walk begins near the entrance to Cirencester Park and follows the River Churn around town to the abbey grounds. The first part of the walk is between stone walls with a stream alongside. You can see the castle-like barracks over the wall.
The water was super calm. You could see were the bottom got churned up by duck that didn’t want its picture taken.
The walk ends up at the abbey grounds near the church. Most of the walk is quiet and pleasant. There is a stretch along a busy road that was less so.
