The River Road is a scenic drive near, though not in, Big Bend National Park. There's not much but the road and the views. And a few locals who want to drive much faster than you.
Gorgeous scenery for at least the first 1.5 hours. We turned around at that point since the scenery was getting more boring. We saw our first 15% grade on a road.
There are a few places where you can walk down to the Rio Grande. It smelled funky.
This was one of the more fascinating rock formations.
We stopped at a state park visitor center on the way back into town to refill water bottles. They had some choice joshua trees.
