The Royal Palace was of course stunning.
We had a little fun finding it in the rain but managed to only be a few minutes late. We got to go through x-ray machines and so did our bags. That’s turning out to be pretty common here. The inner courtyard is gigantic.
Lots of architectural detail including incredible stone and woodwork and wallpaper and painting and one room where the walls and ceilings were entirely covered with porcelain. And we got to see lots of silver and china and crystal through the ages. I think we spent about an hour and a half there.
