Ludington Lighthouse Hike

This is an easy hike along a service road. Bikes or other wheeled vehicles could likely manage it too. Nice dune scenery.

The Lighthouse trail starts from the Pines campground at Ludington State Park. It’s a gravel service road that runs behind the dunes next to the beach. Besides the lighthouse at the end of the trail, there are ponds and other natural areas among the dunes. Since it’s a road it’s easily walkable and can also be cycled. (Walking along the beach to the lighthouse is also an option if you want more of a workout. We made that mistake last time we were here!) For a small fee, you can climb the lighthouse, and there are a small gift shop and restrooms.
