We had to check out the dry forest at Guanica (Bosque Estatal de Guánica, also Bosque Seco) because it's the best of its kind in the Caribbean.
It’s a twisty skinny road to Bosque Seco (the dry forest), with sunken shoulders to make it exciting on the rare occasions there’s another car coming. We don’t have a Jeep like we did on Vieques!
A helpful man at the park information center helped us select a trail, to La Vigia (the view). It was a wide trail, smooth in some areas and some with golf ball to softball size rocks. It was also fairly level other than a steep descent to the overlook. We could have used hiking boots if we had them but we did fine in our Tevas without socks.
