The two shuttle stops associated with El Capitan — #8 and #9 — have nice views of not only El Capitan, but surrounding cliffs and peaks, and Horsetail Falls.
Our first stop in Yosemite Valley was El Capitan Meadow, shuttle stop #9. It had great views of El Capitan and also of the surrounding cliffs and peaks. The river was high and part of the meadow was flooded.
Some ducks were taking advantage of the flooding. The other photo is of what looked like new leaves on a tree.
One another day we stopped at El Capitan Picnic Area, shuttle stop #8. We could see Yosemite falls from there.
More importantly, we got a look at Horsetail Falls.
