Aruba (Eagle Beach)
Having spent 6 days on Aruba at the beginning of our trip, we planned to spend our last 3 days at the beach. Period. And that’s what we did.

We loved Curaçao and can see going back to spend even longer. We barely scratched the surface on things to see and do, too. Beautiful beaches, beautiful water.
Bonaire is beautiful and beautifully laid back. Though there’s not much to do if you’re not into scuba diving.
London is my favorite place on earth, plain and simple. This trip we did some of the things that I would do when I lived here.
We stayed in Carlisle just to catch the Settle-Carlisle train but we enjoyed the castle and cathedral while we were there. A rail strike added an unplanned day here but also meant we didn’t have to go out in the rain.
We loved Keswick, a good traveler’s base for the Lake District that also manages to feel like a real town.
Ambleside was a pleasant introduction to the Lake District, with good bus connections and walks available without taking a bus.
Llandudno is just how I pictured a classic Victorian seaside resort in Great Britain. The beach promenade was great for walking.
We went to Caernarfon for the castle and easier access to Snowdon. The town itself is pleasant.
