Our cabin in Curry Village was charming, right on the shuttle route, and kept out the bears. We also saw wildlife up close.
The shuttle stop for Sentinel Falls is #11, Four Mile Trail. You can also get nice views of Yosemite Falls from there.
Stoneman Meadow is near Curry Village and offers good views of Staircase Falls, Half Dome, the Royal Arches, and more.
You can see Yosemite Falls from a number of places in Yosemite Valley. There is one place to get up close and in your face. (Literally)
We walked to Mirror Lake twice: first on the trail, then on the road. The trail is not difficult. The road is even easier. The scenery is great either way.
The two shuttle stops associated with El Capitan — #8 and #9 — have nice views of not only El Capitan, but surrounding cliffs and peaks, and Horsetail Falls.
Yosemite is unspeakably beautiful and the valley is not what I was expecting at all. So much of the park was closed due to snow, flooding, winter damage, etc. that our 8 days here was overkill. It would have been great if things were open.
