The Kon-Tiki Museum is right across from the Fram museum so it’s easy to see both of them at the same time, like we did.
We hadn’t seen a stave church yet so we went to the Folk Museum. There were other interesting structures and displays besides the stave church.
Another day of beautiful scenery from the boat. If possible it was even better than when we were heading northbound.
Tromsø is the largest town in northern Norway and one of the largest above the Arctic Circle. It’s a pleasant place to walk around.
Today we cruised past the Lofoten Islands, with lots of jagged mountains and even a couple of rainbows.
Trondheim was the first city we hit going north. It was nice to walk around even in the rain.
The highlight of our first day of the cruise (and maybe of the cruise overall) was cruising Geirangerfjord.
We spent 12 days on the Coastal Express, going all the way to Norway’s far north and back. We found it scenic and relaxing. You don’t have to commit to the full 12 days.
The third leg of Norway in a Nutshell is by boat, then bus, then train, all of them scenic.
