Heritage Train to Porthmadog
The heritage train from Caernarfon to Porthmadog goes through some beautiful scenery and small villages. It’s a nice day trip.
Caernarfon
Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon)
We took the Snowdon Mountain railway as far up as we could. There are multiple walking routes to the top. All challenging.
Caernarfon Castle
Caernarfon Castle is bigger and in better shape than Criccieth but perhaps not as impressive as Conwy. Maybe it’s just that we saw Conwy first?
Caernarfon
We spent three nights in Caernarfon for the castle and easier access to Snowdon. The town itself is pleasant and right on the water.
