Great Britain
St Paul’s Cathedral
This was our second visit to St Paul’s. On our first visit photos were not allowed. We made up for that this time.
The British Museum
One nice thing about staying in Bloomsbury is that the British Museum is right there, so you can drop in whenever.
The Design Museum
The Design Museum in Kensington was a new museum (for us) this trip. It sounded like a good collection of displays and of designers at work.
Marylebone
One of the “to-do” items for this trip to London was to explore a new neighborhood. So I chose Marylebone. Which was not totally new, but I didn’t remember the High Street.
William Morris Gallery
The Morris Gallery is a small and informative gallery in Walthamstow, near London. And of course it has a well-stocked gift shop!
The National Gallery
In all the time I’ve spent in London I somehow managed to never get to The National Gallery. So we fixed that during this trip.
Sir John Soane’s Museum
Sir John Soane’s museum has interested me for years. This trip we actually went to visit it. It was less than a mile from our hotel.
London
Ah London! Still my favorite place on earth, and even a week still doesn’t feel like long enough. So much history. So much atmosphere.
Riverside Walk
Our plans for the day didn’t work out so we did this pleasant if unexciting walk along the River Churn.
