Calvary Hill in Castelrotto

Calvary Hill in Castelrotto is a steep but short climb with the reward of beautiful views from the top.

The path winds around and up the hill. We took the more direct steeper path up the stairs and the more gradual winding path around. The top of the hill is flat and has some interesting building and benches.

We spent quite a while up there watching the clouds move and snapping photos of the bell tower and the Schlern. I can understand why legends say witches lived there.

The winding trail down the hill included artwork by local children.

We saw more views of the surrounding countryside and the village on the way down. It was a nice way to spend a possibly rainy day.
