The coastal boardwalk sounded like an easy, scenic way to get some steps in, and it was. We walked from the lagoon over to Turtle Boardwalk.
The lagoon in Airlie Beach offers a nice way to avoid the jellyfish in the ocean. It also has lots of shadecloth. We didn’t feel like swimming so we just checked it out at the start of our walk.
The walk is mostly boardwalk, with some paved surfaces. You’re never far from civilization, though you might see the odd turkey.
Or the occasional crocodile, judging by the warning sign about a crocodile sighting.
Closer in are views of marinas and house along the shore.
Farther out are views across the bay. While the track if fairly level you do gain some altitude along the stretch.
